National Highways warned of delays on the M42

A vehicle fire has forced the closure of all three lanes of a motorway, causing delays for motorists.

The fire is on the northbound section of the M42, between Junction 3A, for the M40, and Junction 4, for Shirley, West Midlands, said National Highways.

It has led to three miles of slow traffic on approach and "delays of 30 minutes", it warned on X.

A crew from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene working to extinguish the fire, it added.
