A 23-year-old woman died in a crash on the M25, police have confirmed.

Emergency services including an air ambulance were called at 19:52 BST on Friday after reports of a collision involving three cars and a HGV between junction 29 at Upminster and junction 30 at Aveley in Thurrock.

A Met Police spokesperson said the woman, who was from east London, had died at the scene. Her family is being supported by specialist officers.

The force has appealed for witnesses. It said no arrests had been made in connection with the collision. A section of the M25 was closed until about 05:00 on Saturday.
