Man charged with murder after fatal house fire
Family handoutA man has been charged with the murder of a man who died in a house fire.
Lucas Scutt, 25, who his family said was a "cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend", died following the fire at the property in Ronsons Close, Cowes, Isle of Wight on 26 June.
Liam Matthews, 24, of Spinnaker Road, Cowes, was charged with murder, arson with intent to endanger life and failure to comply with a Section 49 notice to disclose the key to protected information.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
Another 24-year-old man, also from Cowes, who was arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life, has been released from bail and will face no further action.
A 28-year-old man from Ventor, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, arson with intent to endanger life and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place was previously conditionally bailed until 27 September.
