Officers say the suspect also followed the teenager after she got off the bus

A man repeatedly attempted to sexually assault a teenage girl on a bus, police have said.

The man approached the 17-year-old while she was travelling from Winchcombe to Cheltenham on 27 March, according to Gloucestershire Police.

Officers said the suspect made comments about her appearance and tried to put his hand on her leg but was told to stop by a male passenger. Another man also told him not to touch her when she got off the bus.

No arrests have yet been made. Police are hoping to speak to the two men who intervened, as they may have information that could assist their investigation.

Officers said that the suspect also followed the girl when she got off the bus by Primark in Cheltenham.

When she met up with someone she knew further along the High Street, he turned around and walked away, police said.
