Fire crews fight blaze at metal recycling firm
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue ServiceFirefighters are tackling a large blaze at a recycling facility in Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to Moores Metals on Chemical Lane at about 03:20 BST on Tuesday.
Five crews are at the scene operating two water carriers.
The service added that Chemical Lane was closed, and nearby businesses were only accessible by foot.
People living nearby have been advised to keep doors and windows closed and to avoid the area.
An investigation would take place to determine how the blaze started, the fire service said.
Moores Metals recycles and processes scrap metal, and also batteries, waste electrical and electronic equipment, and end-of-life vehicles.
Paper, plastic, cardboard and timber are also processed there.
