Fatal crash victim 'missed deeply', says family

A man who was killed in a car crash in Bradford "made the world brighter just by being in it", members of his family have said.

Eugen Matta, 45, died after he was hit by a black Cupra Leon being driven on Killinghall Road towards Bradford Moor Park at about 20:50 BST on Thursday, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Two women, aged 19 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and had since been released on bail pending further inquiries, a spokesperson said.

In a tribute, Matta's family said he was "a guide, a friend and someone who made the world brighter just by being in it".

"He had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard and valued," they added.

"His kindness was quiet but constant, his strength steady, and his laugh something we will all miss deeply."

Police urged anyone with information about what happened, or who had dashcam footage from the scene, to get in contact.
