CMAT date cancelled at LIDO festival after park problems
Getty ImagesIrish singer CMAT has apologised to fans after it was announced her headline date at LIDO Festival has been cancelled.
Organisers for the event, which was set to take place at London's Victoria Park across 12 to 14 June, said it had been rescheduled to "protect park conditions".
The three-day festival has now been changed to a one-off date on 31 August.
Along with CMAT, artists such as Father John Misty and Bombay Bicycle Club will now not be able to play.
CMAT said she is "truly devastated not to be able to play this festival".
"I realise this will cause issues for some of you who have bought tickets and may be travelling and for that I can only say sorry," the Euro-Country singer added in a statement shared on social media.
Getty ImagesIn a statement, LIDO Festival said "one of the wettest winters in recent history" had affected an "extensive reseeding and improvement programme" in Victoria Park.
"Our advisors recommended giving these newly improved areas a little more time before starting the festival programme," it added.
It comes after the park experienced extensive dust issues during numerous festival shows last summer which organisers said was caused by the drought.
After cutting two full days, the festival has said electronic duo Maribou State and a range of support acts will now perform during the one August show.
Organisers also said "the changes are in no way the fault of the artists" and that ticketholders will receive a full refund.
LIDO Festival, which launched in 2025, describes itself as "a fan-first festival".
The first year saw the likes of Massive Attack, Charli XCX and London Grammar take to the stage.
All Points East festival is also due to take place in Victoria Park in August.
Organisers for the event have confirmed to BBC Newsbeat that it will be going ahead as planned.
