Major incident declared after bus crash near roundabout

Emergency services are dealing with a major incident following a bus crash near a roundabout.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the crash, involving a bus, happened on the A484 near the Kidwelly roundabout in Carmarthenshire, south-west Wales.

The force added the road was currently closed between the roundabout at Parc y Bocs and Llandyfaelog, and motorists were asked to find alternative routes.

Emergency services are on the scene and members of the public have been asked to stay away from the area until further notice.

Hwyel Dda health board said its teams were responding to the incident.

"Our emergency departments are busy, and waiting times are likely to be longer as we treat individuals with the greatest need first," it said.

The A484 is a popular route which connects Carmarthen with Kidwelly, Burry Port and Llanelli.

Local attractions include Pembrey Country Park and Cefn Sidan beach - both busy with visitors in the summer months.
