Bolton food festival to attract 500,000 visitors

More than half a million people are expected to attend Bolton's Food and Drink Festival as over 100 food vendors will serve up tasty meals and drinks over four days.

Big name chefs include James Martin, Marco Pierre White and Nisha Katona will serve up cooking demos.

The festival site is spread across the town centre and organisers suggest Victoria Square information point is the best place for visitors to collect a free guide to help plan their day.

Debbie Newall, Bolton Council's executive cabinet member for culture, said: "This is an opportunity to support local traders, celebrate fantastic food and drink, and showcase the very best of Bolton."

"From artisan stalls and celebrity chef demonstrations, to live music and family activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

"We are so proud of the continued success of the festival, and I urge everyone to visit and show their support."

Free events taking place include street performers, children's activities, live music and entertainment throughout the weekend including headliners Liberty X and The Real Thing with demonstrations from regional chefs at Victoria Square.

Meanwhile interactive experiences across the festival site include circus skills workshops, giant doodle walls, bubble performances, creative art sessions and a giant sandpit.
