Road reopens after teens seriously injured in crash
Eddie MitchellA section of the A23 has reopened following a multi-vehicle crash that caused serious injuries.
Emergency services responded to the incident, which included two cars and a lorry, on the key trunk road's northbound carriageway at Albourne at about 22:15 BST on Thursday.
The driver of a blue Ford Fiesta, a 17-year-old boy, and a 19-year-old man, both from East Grinstead, were taken to hospital, along with another man, 19, from Copthorne.
The driver of a Ford Puma, a 46-year-old woman from Horsham, also sustained injuries. The lorry driver, a 57-year-old man from Swindon, escaped unhurt.
Eddie MitchellClosures were in place between the B2117 at Hurstpierpoint and the B2118 at Sayers Common until Friday afternoon.
Barrier repairs and extensive carriageway clean up works were carried out, according to National Highways.
Earlier, the agency said it had "mobilised crews to support Sussex Police" while it investigated a "multi‑vehicle collision involving serious injuries".
Sussex Police is urging anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dashcam footage, to contact the force.
