Police plea to take beach litter home

Police have urged people to dispose of their rubbish properly after "a concerning amount of litter" was found in some beach areas.

Guernsey Police said its officers wanted everyone to enjoy "beaches sensibly" by taking rubbish home and leaving every spot as they found it.

"This particularly applies to disposable BBQs left on beaches and headlands, which can cause serious harm," the force said.

In a post on social media it added officers were also investigating a "particularly bad case of littering and anti-social behaviour" in the Albecq area on Tuesday and asked anyone with information to contact PC 146 Moore on 222 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
