A street has been cordoned off and homes evacuated as part of a police incident in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police said people from a number of properties on Sterncourt Road in Frenchay had been asked to leave their homes "as a precaution", and a bomb disposal unit was at the scene.

The force has not confirmed further what the incident is.

"We would please ask people to avoid the area at this time," officers said.
