Residents and family members feared Ashley Court Residential Care Home would close

The future of a care home that was threatened with closure has been secured after a year of uncertainty.

Ashley Court Residential Care Home, which was purpose built for adults with physical disabilities, was at risk of shutting when housing provider Amplius said in April 2025 it could no longer continue running the premises.

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed a new owner had been found with the home being taken over by another provider, Annicare.

Councillor Steve Clegg said: "I know this news will be a great relief to those living at Ashley Court, and their families, and I'd like to thank them all for the patience they have shown at an incredibly difficult time."

Clegg, an executive member for adult care and health at the council, said a number of Ashley Court residents had lived at the home for decades and the authority had been trying its best to prevent them from being moved.

"We didn't want to see that community torn apart, so we've worked tirelessly with partners to find a way to keep the home open.

"It hasn't been easy, and it's taken some time, but I'm delighted to say that a solution has been found."

The council confirmed the home had remained open throughout the search for a new provider, with Annicare taking over from Wednesday 1 April.
