Armed police respond to plane crashing into other aircraft after skidding off runway

A plane crashed into several other aircraft after skidding beyond its landing site at an airfield in Fife - sparking a response from armed police.

Fire crews were called to Fife Airport, just outside Glenrothes, at about 10:45 following reports of the light aircraft leaving the runway and striking grounded planes.

Armed police, who were in the area at time of the incident, also responded to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said no-one was injured and no further action was taken.
