Safety work carried out on 'Cat steps' footpath
Bradford CouncilSafety and access on a "well-used" public footpath has been "significantly enhanced" following a combined effort by volunteers and councils.
Work on the Cat Steps, in Keighley, included removing overgrown trees and shrubs to increase visibility and natural light.
A spokesperson for Bradford Council, who carried out the work with the support of community groups and Keighley Town Council, said it was "part of wider efforts to enhance public rights of way across the district".
More than 15 volunteers cleared litter, removed dead hedging and scraped mud from the steps to make the path easier to use, the council said.
Keighley Town Council funded the installation of new handrails along steeper sections of the route, with a stone bench also added to provide a resting point for walkers.
Bradford Council said a number of partners contributed to the scheme, including Get Out More, River Worth Friends, In Communities, Photo Hub North and Word Up North.
