Bristol Harbour FestivalSinging pirates: The pirate-folk favourites Piratitude took part in the launch event for the Bristol Harbour Festival which takes place from 17 July.

Elders' brunch: St Paul's Carnival has been scaled back this year, with smaller community events taking place. On Saturday, the carnival hosted an Elders' Brunch to celebrate the generations of people who shaped the event. It featured a choir performance and a series of poems by schoolchildren.
Bristol Hoteliers AssociationFootball fever: Never mind the World Cup - a dozen five-a-side teams provided competitive but friendly fun at a local tournament organised by the Bristol Hoteliers Association.
The event raised £600 for the Bristol Children's Hospital charity, the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal.
RNLI PortisheadRewarding role: New trainees have started learning how to save lives at sea for the RNLI at Portishead Lifeboat Station.
After several years of dedicated helping on shore, the volunteers are taking "a significant next step" in their work for the maritime charity.
Chess in SchoolsChess craze: About 80 children played their winning moves in the first ever North Somerset inter-school chess tournament held in Portishead.
It was organised by Chess in Schools and Communities, a charity which helps primary schools set up after-school clubs to prepare players for county and national competitions.
Bristol BearsShared commitment: Bristol Bears has announced its new sponsor, Foot Anstey.
The law firm also becomes the principal partner in the Bristol Bears Foundation, its charitable arm.

Neil PhillipsGlobal icon: Tom Jones headlined a music event at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester on Sunday.

On your bike: More than 100 bikers from the Gloucestershire Toffs and Totties group set off on a charity ride from Gloucester on Saturday to raise money for the county's neonatal unit. It was the group's 10th and final ride.
Cotswold LavenderFragrant blooms: Pack a picnic, bring your dog and spend time surrounded by nature at it most beautiful - Cotswold Lavender and Wildflower field is now open for visitors until 5 August.
BBC/Steve MellenIn memoriam: Two hikers approach the William Tyndale Monument, which sits up high overlooking the Severn Estuary. The giant tower, near Dursley, was erected in memory of Tyndale, who converted the New Testament into English.
Wiltshire
Eric HobsonTying the knot: Minety Music Festival in Wiltshire hosted its first wedding celebration on Saturday. Stuart Earl and Nikki Monaghan are volunteers at the festival and wanted their nuptials to be a bit different - so they had a ceremony on the main stage.

Brilliant barn: A huge mural has taken shape on the side of a 150ft barn near to the North Meadow Nature Reserve by the A419 between Cricklade and Swindon. It is the creation of Sarah Harris, who goes by Murals by Sarah on Facebook. She was asked by the owner of the barn - who owns a horse livery - to spruce it up.
Wiltshire CouncilCar crush: A man who dumped rubbish on a footpath near Bulford has had his car crushed as a message to other potential fly-tippers. His vehicle was seized as part of a joint investigation by Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Police.

Gail Foster PhotographyBig banner: Devizes has come together to make a giant banner to represent local charities, groups and sport clubs. After an unveiling by Mayor Vanessa Tanner in the Corn Exchange, the banner was moved to the Devizes Library with other panels of it available to view at the Brittox.
Wiltshire CouncilInclusive workplaces: Wiltshire Council has celebrated employers from across the county who are helping young people with SEND. Firms are recognised for supporting workplace visits, mock interviews, internships and paid roles.
Somerset
Somerset NHS Foundation TrustPioneering team: Cancer nurses at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust have been nominated for a national award in recognition of their work improving patient access to services.
The trust's faster diagnosis cancer nurses have been shortlisted for a Nursing Times Award for their "innovative" self-referral model.
Quantock Hills National Landscape TeamArt project: The special flora of the Quantock Hills is being celebrated in a new exhibition of paintings and drawings by botanical artists. Specimens of plants, fungi and lichen have been documented to create an archive of the unique area.
