A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a passenger died in a collision involving two vehicles.

It happened on Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, at about 00:25 BST, when a Peugeot 107 struck a parked, unattended, Toyota Landcruiser, Lancashire Police said.

The front seat passenger in the Peugeot, a man in his 40s, suffered traumatic injuries and died at the scene.

A 46-year-old man was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment. Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dashcam/CCTV footage from the area, to contact them.
