New plans for Fort Regent will be presented to the public

People in Jersey have been invited to view updated plans for Fort Regent.

The Government of Jersey and the States of Jersey Development Company (SoJDC) will display the designs at an exhibition at the Pomme d'Or Hotel on the 14 April at 17:30 BST.

More than 2,500 people gave their feedback on proposals for Fort Regent in an independent survey in 2021, and then a further survey last year of more than 6,000 islanders showed strong support for the refined plans.

Officials hope the presentation will show the public how feedback has helped shape the plans.

Officials said the plans reflected the feedback they have received from the public

Minister for Infrastructure Andy Jehan said: "Our work on Fort Regent has been guided by a commitment to deliver a long‑term, financially sustainable community asset."

He added the plans would "breathe new life into this strategic site" and "we look forward to presenting the plans and discussing them with islanders".

Lee Henry from SoJDC said: "Fort Regent is an iconic part of Jersey's landscape and Islanders have been clear about the role they want it to play in our community.

"I am pleased to share a vision that protects the fort's heritage while creating an accessible, vibrant destination for future generations."
