Woman, 85, dies after being hit by car outside Edinburgh hospital

An 85-year-old woman has died in hospital after being hit by a car outside the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh.

The woman and an 88-year-old man were struck by a red Peugeot 208 on Little France Crescent at about 15:40 on Monday.

The man remains in hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police Scotland said no other injuries were reported and inquiries were ongoing.
