Man dies after punch from teen 'who threw branch'
BBCA man in his 70s has died after being punched while he spoke to two teenagers who reportedly threw a branch at a cyclist, police say.
Officers were called to Honeybourne Way in Cheltenham at about 19:30 BST on Wednesday to reports two boys on Millennium Bridge had thrown a branch at someone cycling below.
The cyclist was not injured but when the boys were later approached by a separate man in his 70s, one of them punched him in the face, Gloucestershire Police said. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died earlier.
Two boys - aged 17 and 16 - who were previously arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm are now being questioned on suspicion of murder, police said.
The force asked for any witnesses of the incident, or anybody with information about it, to contact them.
