Dispersal order authorised for town centre
Getty ImagesA dispersal order has been authorised for Guildford town centre following several reports of young people behaving in an anti-social manner during weekends.
The order will be in force between 10:00 BST and midnight on Sunday.
Surrey Police said it gave officers the power to order groups of two or more people to leave the area if they are committing, or are likely to commit, a criminal offence.
Insp James Willmett said: "This dispersal order is intended to ensure the safety of residents and visitors to Guildford town centre."
As part of the order, there will also be additional patrols in the area.
"Anti-social behaviour has a huge impact on the community, and we are working alongside our partner agencies to prevent issues from reoccurring," Willmett added.
Police have urged anyone in the area to contact the force immediately if they see or experience any anti-social of criminal behaviour.
