Locations sought to train and develop police dogs
Devon and Cornwall PolicePolice are seeking safe and suitable environments where they can train and develop police dogs.
Devon and Cornwall Police said its dogs needed to practice sniffing, searching and chasing skills on a regular basis but the force was "really struggling" to find appropriate venues.
To support its search, it is appealing to land and property owners and local businesses for help finding adequate spaces.
The force said it was on the lookout for large areas of lands such as fields and farmland, as well as both vacant and used buildings, on the Exeter, M5, A30, and A38 corridors.
It said it was "fully reliant on the goodwill of local landowners" who wanted to support their local police dogs, and in return would receive a visible police presence on their land.
