Hollywood star Jason Momoa has had his vintage Land Rovers and Harley-Davidsons converted to electric power by a UK company.

Electrogenic, based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, transformed the actor's two rare classic Land Rovers into clean, fully electric electric vehicles.

The firm also converted three of his 1920s Harley-Davidson motorcycles into plug-in hybrids, with new electric powertrains working alongside the original petrol engines.

The Aquaman star joked he "really loves annoying" the company by "trying to make things extremely difficult for them" with the "wildest ideas".

"I'm always excited about what's happening with technology and how we move through this world - so that's the motivation (for these projects)," he said.

"I live a life that's kind of off the grid, and I love being outdoors... I want to be able to stay outdoors and try to do something in a more sustainable way."

Momoa said the Harley-Davidson conversions were "unbelievable"

Electrogenic specialises in converting classic vehicles to electric power.

The firm worked on Momoa's 1961 Series IIA 109 Dormobile and a 1949 Series I 80" – converting both to fully electric.

It also transformed three vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycles – a 1924 Model JD, a 1927 Model JD and a 1921 Model FD.

Momoa highlighted the hybrid motorcycles as "the best thing we've ever made", saying they were "unbelievable".

"I've ridden on an e-bike before, I've ridden on e-bicycles, I've ridden on e-motorcycles, but the idea of riding on an old (electrified) bike, it was just unlike anything I've experienced," he said.

"It's just a really beautiful experience."

Electrogenic chief executive Steve Drummond said the firm had "preserved the unique character" of the vehicles, while "discreetly" equipping them with "state-of-the-art" systems.

"The results stand as a testament to the creativity and world-class powertrain capabilities of our fantastic team," he said.

He added it was a "joy" to work with Momoa on the projects.

The conversions feature in the second series of his HBO Max series, On the Roam.
