Police are working to allow evacuated residents to return home after a large fire at a caravan park.

More than 120 firefighters from Oxfordshire and beyond responded to the blaze at Oaks Caravan Park in Fyfield Wick, near Abingdon, on Sunday evening.

Thames Valley Police said it was working with the fire service to allow some of the occupants back "where it is deemed there is no risk".

The force confirmed roads had reopened following closures on Faringdon Road, the A415 Kingston Road, the A338 and Digging Lane.

Residents of the park were moved to a nearby cricket ground for their safety.

The fire service received more than 30 calls about the incident and an investigation into the cause continues.

"We would like to thank the community for following the advice of emergency services during this time," TVP added.
