Boy, 13, seriously injured in town centre stabbing

A 13-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a stabbing in a town centre.

Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to Riverside Walk, Rochdale, at 18:09 BST on Saturday.

Images posted on social media in the aftermath of the attack showed a number of police cars outside the Taco Bell restaurant, and forensics officers inside the venue.

Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article. The force said the injured teenager was being treated in hospital and inquiries are continuing.
