Plans to turn toilet block into holiday apartment
BBCA former toilet block next to La Vallette bathing pools could become a self-catering holiday apartment.
The plans that have been submitted outline turning the Guernsey States-owned block into a one bedroom with an ensuite and a combined kitchen and dining area.
If the proposals get the go ahead, the applicant, Vive La Vallette, said the site would become "accessible holiday accommodation unlike any other in St Peter Port".
The charity, which was set up in 2019 to champion the regeneration of the pools and the area around them, said the the toilets have not been in use for a long time and alternative facilities were available nearby.
In the letter to planning, Vive la Vallette said they were "confident that the project will deliver the preservation of a building with historic and aesthetic value".
A representative from the group said they were still working out the financing of the project, hopeful for its approval.
They added that money made from bookings would be reinvested into the charity.
