Man injured after daytime 'disturbance' at popular park
North Lanarkshire CouncilA man was injured and taken to hospital after a disturbance took place in a popular country park during the day.
The 38-year-old was hurt at Drumpellier Country Park in Coatbridge at about midday on Monday.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Social media posts suggested people were seen wielding weapons, such as knives and golf clubs, in the Drumpellier car park.
Earlier this year two teenagers were left with serious injuries after being attacked in the park by a gang wearing balaclavas and wielding weapons.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.15pm on 6 July, we received a report of a disturbance at Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge.
"A 38-year-old was injured and taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
