Two men have been stabbed at Luna Springs in Digbeth, police say

Two men have been stabbed at a music venue in Digbeth in Birmingham.

Officers were called toLuna Springs at Lower Trinity Street shortly before 19:00 BST on Saturday. The venue was hosting a day rave event.

Both men were taken to hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, West Midlands Police said. Police officers would remain in the area while an investigation took place to understand exactly what had happened and to find those responsible.

Anyone who was at the venue with mobile phone footage or information has been urged to come forward. Luna Springs has been contacted for a comment.

The venue was hosting a day rave event 'Cru2: The Birmingham Shutdown' at the time of the stabbing.

Social media comments said it had shut early and pictures show signs saying there had been an incident. People were asked to leave the venue by the nearest exit.

Cru2 Events put out a statement on social media saying: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the afterparty for Cru2: The Birmingham Shutdown has been cancelled. All ticket holders for the main event and afterparty will be contacted on Monday."

Earlier, in a social media post before the rave, it said all guests would be subject "to a search upon entry, as Luna Springs operates a strict search policy".
