Kirkham U15s

Kirkham JFC

By Peter Woods
Kirkham JFC Under 7s made their debuts - but it didn't show as they put in a star performance...

Under 9s:

Kirkham Juniors 2-0 South Shore “A”

In their best game of the season Kirkham were in excellent form. With Conor M, Tom G & Matty N weaving their magic in midfield, Man Of The Match Charlie Bs never say die attitude finally paid off as he intercepted the keepers clearance to score. Inevitably Tom G made it 2-0 after a fine through ball from Conor. Will H defended everything thrown at him.

Kirkham Juniors 1-0 South Shore “B”

Kicking with the wind in the first half, Man Of The Match Sam T scored with a superb finish as he ran through and lifted the ball over the keeper. In difficult conditions Kirkham defended resolutely in the second half, with Lewis M heading the ball like an ‘old pro’. With Giles L in goal, Tom J as composed as ever, and Todd R working tirelessly on the right, Kirkham ended deserved winners.

Under 9s:

JFC Kirkham 0-4 Blackpool Rangers “A”

A fantastic effort against the league leaders, with strong defence and some great saves keeping the visitors down for much of the first half. A couple of lapses gave Rangers a half time lead, and two more after the break gave the scoreline a flattering look. Notable performances from James T and man of the match Lewis B W.

JFC Kirkham Juniors 1-3 Blackpool Rangers “B”

A great team movement allowed James H to give Kirkham the lead, then some great defending from Rhys P and Ollie S kept them at bay until the last five minutes. Sadly the final result of 1 - 3 did not reflect the determination and guts that the entire team showed. An excellent performance from Keelan L in goal.

Under 10s:

Foxhall 1-1 Kirkham Juniors “A”

A below-par display and a lucky draw for Kirkham. After a goalless first half, Russell T gave Kirkham the lead, but Foxhall hit back strongly to equalise. Solid defending from James P and good work from Daniel R who kept pushing Kirkham forward.

Foxhall 2-0 Kirkham Juniors “B”

Kirkham attacked strongly with the wind behind them but failed to score in the first half. Kicking into the wind, Elliott S gave Kirkham an early lead which Charlie C soon doubled. Keeper Nathan J and man of the match Bobby B ensured the result for Kirkham.

Under 15s:

Poulton Youth 3-3 Kirkham Juniors

Craig B put Kirkham in front in gale force winds at Cottam Hall, but Poulton hit back with the wind in their favour to take a 2-1 half time lead.

In the second half Kirkham took control and soon equalized when a long throw from Glen M was touched in by Craig B and Kirkham were well on top when Ross A tapped in the third. Poulton snatched a dramatic equaliser with the last kick of the game as the referee looked at his watch. A disappointing result for Kirkham as they looked to catch up on the League leaders.

Under 7s (Friendly):

Warton Typhoons 0-4 Kirkham Juniors “A”

It was difficult to believe this was Kirkham U7’s first ever game as they played with a maturity beyond their years. Man Of The Match Isaac E, and Will G both scored 2 goals each as they ran out worthy winners. The two Charlie’s, M and S, along with Tim C were dominant as Kirkham passed the ball around a bemused Warton.

Warton Typhoons 1-1 Kirkham Juniors “B”

Never giving up, Kirkham secured a draw as Jonathan T ran through to slot the ball past the keeper. Man Of The Match Callum H was a driving force in midfield, with Harry C and John-Jo M working tirelessly to stop Warton’s counter attacks. Oliver F was secure in goal producing some fine saves to keep the scores level.
