Kirkham JFC

Kirkham JFC

By Peter Woods
It was a fruitful weekend for Kirkham - the U9s, U10s, U14s and U15s all recorded wins.

Under 9s:

JFC Kirkham 1-0 Layton Juniors A

Josh E, James T and Ben W controlled the midfield and a first half goal from Ben W was enough. Good second half defending by James Tuffy, Benedict LeSaint and in particular Andy Reynolds ensured JFC Kirkham got their reward.

JFC Kirkham 4-0 Layton Juniors B

When James H finally hit the back of the net it was like the floodgates had opened. A further tremendous shot from Jordan P and two further goals from James H (his first hat-trick) gave JFC Kirkham the points they deserved. Rhys P, Ollie S and Jordan T kept out any Layton attacks and ensured a clean sheet, but it was an excellent display from the whole team.

Under 10s:

BJFF 1-3 Kirkham Juniors A

After a shaky start Kirkham finished comfortable winners on a soggy Blackpool pitch. Tom G opened the scoring with a tap in after fine wing play from man of the match James B. Conor M doubled the lead as he broke through on the goal, skilfully rounding the keeper. Tom G scored the third with a low drive from well outside the box. There was still time for the BJFF keeper to make a great penalty save after a foul on Conor.

BJFF 0-1 Kirkham Juniors B

Kirkham dug in deep to keep out BJFF after an excellent solo goal from Jackson A and a skilful team display from everyone. Taking the ball from his own half he ran through before calmly sliding the ball past the keeper. In midfield, man of the match Adam D and Tom J were tireless, helped by some crucial saves from keeper Giles L and resolute defending from Lewis M and Will H.

Under 14s:

Kirkham Juniors 1-3 South Shore

The first half saw Kirkham dominate a good South Shore team, with South Shore not having a shot at goal. Kirkham took the lead from a looping shot from outside the area by Gareth L that the keeper couldn’t hold. Despite creating more chances the South Shore keeper kept them at bay. Despite a bright start to the second half South Shore equalized through a great strike then went on to score 2 more break away goals.

Under 15s:

Lytham Juniors 0-5 Kirkham Juniors

Craig Burke got Kirkham off to an early lead with a header and completed his hat trick by half time as Kirkham took control of this local derby. In the second half Kirkham continued to press forward and break down the Lytham defence, Danny Monckton scored from a Fuller cross to make it 4-0 and then finished off the match with a penalty kick.
