Aaron Blair's first-half goal gave Eastleigh a 1-0 victory over Carlisle and ended a four-match winless streak.

The Spitfires suffered a blow in the first half when Nick Akoto was taken off on a stretcher following a lengthy delay.

But they were soon celebrating as Blair fired into the top corner from close range after being set up by Josh Lundstram.

The hosts almost doubled their advantage just before the hour when Jordan Cousins forced a good save from Adam Desbois.

The visitors could have levelled in the 72nd minute when Junior Luamba was played in by fellow substitute Stephen Wearne but missed the target from an excellent position.
