More to the point, our reporter Natalie has been clocking up the miles. She's been visiting stag beetles in Fingringhoe and showing off her bowling skills in Walton-on-the-Naze. StrikePlanet Ray listener Robin has been a regular at Walton bowl on the pier for many years. He told us about Dom Barrett who is a professional ten-pin bowler, bowling in competitions all over the world. ![]() Entrance to Walton pier bowling alley So we sent Nats off to meet him and admire his bowling skills. Being an allotment man (although temporarily without an allotment) I was interested to hear of one local MP who regularly spends £249 on his garden. I went to a garden centre with BBC Essex colleague Ian Puckey to check out just what you could buy for £249.
