It was so good that star player and newsman Richard Martin was in stitches after colliding with the fence. "I was pushed," said Richard. The referee didn't notice.

Fellow newsman Richard Smith was manager. "You tried your best, but you lost," was the message to his team.

Joining Richard were Telephone Stu and producer Mark Syred, sports team members Glenn Speller, Ben Fryer and Neil Kelly. Kieran Turner came from news and representing online, Ollie Rogers.

Allotment or wildlife park?

I had a phone-call on Saturday morning. "D'you still want an allotment? There's a plot here for you now." So started the second stage in my allotment career, but not until I've cleared the whole area - and that could take a while.

After an afternoon of hard work

I was very proud of clearing the waist-high grass and weeds with the 'killer strimmer,' but now I have to be let loose with a rotovator. Please keep clear, this is obviously a hard hat area.

Hold on tight

Plans are now well advanced for the great Pebmarsh Billy Cart Grand-Prix.

Our design and erection team, led by engineer John Owers, are really on the job with their person-propelled engineless vehicle, which is to be steered by our ace team: Telephone Stu and... well, me I think.
