Southend secured sixth place after finishing their National League campaign with a 2-1 win against Wealdstone.

The Shrimpers had already guaranteed a play-off spot before the final day of the season but needed to match or better Forest Green's result at home to Morecambe to seal sixth.

Keenan Appiah-Forson put the home side ahead in the 11th minute when he tapped in Jack Bridge's cross before Charley Kendall grabbed Southend's 100th goal of the season in the 34th minute.

Wealdstone pulled one back before half-time through Micah Obiero and, although the hosts could not extend their lead, Southend held on for the three points to set up a play-off quarter-final clash at Scunthorpe.
