York City have 107 points but cannot seal promotion until their final game

York remain in the driving seat for automatic promotion to the Football League for the first time in a decade after a routine victory over Yeovil in their penultimate fixture of the season.

Goals from Ollie Pearce, Josh Stones and Joe Grey helped the Minstermen to a fifth win in a row to keep them two points above Rochdale ahead of the top-two's winner-takes-all showdown next weekend.

Jed Ward produced fine saves from Stones and Ollie Banks, who turned provider as York broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute with captain Pearce leaping highest in the area to head home.

Stones made sure York went in at the break 2-0 ahead after wriggling into space and firing low beyond Glovers goalkeeper Ward three minutes before half-time.

Ward twice denied Stones a second after the interval but York got their third when Joe Grey struck in the second minute of stoppage time to wrap up a comfortable win for Stuart Maynard's side.
