Jowita Przystał first got a taste of the Strictly Ballroom after winning The Greatest Dancer in 2020, before officially joining our professional line-up in 2021 – and what a Strictly journey she’s had since!
Jowita started dancing at the age of 12 and went on to become Polish Open Latin Champion. In 2015, she ended her competitive career to join touring dance company Burn The Floor, performing around the world for four years before making her way to the UK.
During her time on The Greatest Dancer, Jowita was mentored by and performed with Strictly legend Oti Mabuse, giving her the perfect introduction to Strictly life!
Her first celebrity partnership came in 2022 with wildlife cameraman and CBeebies star Hamza Yassin – and what a debut it was! The pair danced their way to Glitterball glory and were crowned Strictly Come Dancing Champions 2022.
In 2023, Jowita returned to the dancefloor with Paralympian Jody Cundy, with the pair bowing out in Week Four.
Jowita teamed up with TV personality and podcaster Pete Wicks in 2024, taking their partnership all the way to the Semi-Final and narrowly missing out on a place in the Grand Final.
In 2025, Jowita was partnered with TV presenter Ross King. Their Strictly journey came to an end in Movie Week, when they became the second couple to leave the competition after facing the Dance-Off.
With a Glitterball already to her name, Jowita is back and ready to bring her passion, power and plenty of Polish sparkle to the Strictly dancefloor once again!
