Aljaž Skorjanec

A Strictly favourite since making his debut in 2013, Aljaž Škorjanec certainly knows his way around the Ballroom!

Aljaž made quite the entrance during his first series, lifting the Glitterball Trophy with model and TV presenter Abbey Clancy after the first all-female Final in Strictly history. Since then, he’s enjoyed plenty more memorable moments on the dancefloor, reaching the Quarter Final with actress Helen George in 2015 and returning to the Final with Gemma Atkinson in 2017.

Born and raised in Slovenia, Aljaž started dancing at just five years old – after signing himself up for nursery dance lessons without telling his parents! That decision certainly paid off, as he went on to compete for 13 years and become a 19-time Slovenian champion in Ballroom, Latin and Ten Dance.

Across his Strictly journey, Aljaž has partnered Alison Hammond, Daisy Lowe, Kate Silverton, Viscountess Emma Weymouth, Clara Amfo and Dragons' Den star Sara Davies, bringing his signature energy and charm to the Ballroom.

After taking a few years away from Strictly, Aljaž made a spectacular return in 2024, partnering Tasha Ghouri and dancing all the way to the Grand Final.

In 2025, Aljaž was partnered with drag performer La Voix, with the pair bringing plenty of personality and sparkle to the Ballroom. Their Strictly journey came to an early end when La Voix was forced to withdraw from the competition following an injury during training.

Now back for another series, Aljaž is ready to bring his signature charm, fabulous footwork and plenty of sparkle to the Strictly Ballroom once again!
