As di rumours of wetin kill am bin dey circulate online, Destiny Boy mama, Saida, release one video on Monday 19 January wia she address di cause of her son death.

She say di singer bin don dey battle long-term illness wey dey always cause seizures.

According to her, di illness, locally referred to as "Ogu oru", bin don persist for years and require both medical and traditional treatment. She explain say di family bin take Destiny Boy to several hospitals and also seek traditional remedies so dem go fit stabilise im condition.

"We bin no let di public know about dis becos na superstar. We take am to churches, herbalists, etc for am to get a cure but no level," she tok.

However, di Ogun State Police Command tok-tok pesin, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, tell BBC News Pidgin on Saturday 4 April say di autopsy result of Destiny Boy confam say di young singer bin overdose on tramadol and methamphetamine.

For one text message to BBC News Pidgin enquiry, Babaseyi say di report reveal harmful levels of tramadol and im metabolites, as well as methamphetamine, for di body of di deceased.

"Di Consultant Anatomic Pathologist report say toxicology results bin reveal harmful levels of tramadol and im metabolites, as well as methamphetamine, and opine say di cause of death na aspiration pneumonitis wey result from di ingestion of dis toxic substances, wit di date of death being 17/01/2026," Babaseyi tok.
