Oyo State Govnor, Seyi Makinde don executive order to regulate di activities of associations and groups wey dey perform security-related services for di state.

Di govnor don ask leaders of dis different security outfits for di state make dem register wit di state govment formally and wear uniform as a means of identity within di state.

On Wednesday, self-proclaimed activist, Sunday 'Igboho' Adeyemo officially launch im own security outfit wey e call 'Ija Ekun.'

E explain say Ija Ekun na regional outfits wit about 50,000 members, and dem don ready to attack wit gunmen, kidnappers and bandits across all south-west regions.

Earlier on Tuesday, di govnor tok say executive order don become necessary to facilitate coordination of security efforts for di state as insecurity don become "more sophisticated."

Makinde say di security na di job of di govment "alone" but dem go appreciate di effort of any group wey dey operate within "clear legal and operational framework wey go support peace, order and di rule of law.

How di 'executive order' go take effect

According to di Oyo State Commissioner for Justice, Abiodun Aikomo, di order na to make sure say pipo dey accountable and dem fit properly monitor groups wey dey provide security services for di state.

"So, we dey face battle security challenges for Nigeria. Under di 1999 Constitution di welfare of the pipo and security na di main purpose of governance."
