It was Major Tom's idea to dress up ...

As the clocks go forward Planet Ray goes back in time ...

The first week in April, spring is here, the schools are on holiday and Queen Elizabeth the first holds court as Planet Ray finds a Postmaster. Just some of the topics covered this week on The Ray Clark Breakfast Show.

Ye olden times as Tom storms Colchester castle

As the school holidays got underway in Essex Tom went off to Colchester Castle, but not before he visited the Fancy Dress shop.

I think I was supposed to stand up!

More from Tom: "My eyes are still hurting and my innocence has been shattered! Last weekend I found myself in Carry On Costumes in Kelvedon and had a flash of inspiration! I decided it would be a great idea to dress Ray and Producer Alison up in traditional Tudor dress ready for my visit to Colchester Castle

As soon as Alison told me she'd have to take her bra off to get into the dress I realised it was a mistake. I saw things that will live with me forever! I'm hoping for a quiet week next week as Ray is holidaying somewhere near Lake Titicaca"

London Marathon

Can't see anyone running backwards...

Time's running out for April Fools

April 1st saw a team called 'BACKS' in training for this year's London Marathon - look out for them, they're planning to run BACKWARDS - Now what was the date when we spoke to them?. No, let's own up, it was an April Fool, but as many listeners to the Ray Clark Breakfast Show said, Almost believable, but I don't think it's been done - yet!

Story that you write -'Sandra's tale'

Another great story, started by Julia. Every day you can join in with our story, by writing the next episode. Listen daily to The Ray Clark Breakfast Show at 06.55, 07.55, 08.55 for the latest exciting episode.

""The reason why our post offices are struggling to stay alive is because we are a small island""

Planet Ray Postmaster General, Alan from Danbury

Alan from Danbury appointed Planet Ray Postmaster

Every day more and more listeners are expressing an interest in making the move to Planet Ray. After sending this e-mail Alan from Danbury is now our Post Master General. He writes: "The reason why our Post Offices are struggling to stay alive - is because we are a small island!! All those people all over America, and China and France etc etc are all buying stamps in their huge countries - and posting them here to our little country - and expecting our posties to carry and deliver them free of charge!!"

Finally 'Where in Essex'

Drop an 'aitch', or you could add one, and you could still name this place - but only just Ardleigh
Potatoes appeal down here - Mashbury
Is this place 'well served' by lawyers? - Writtle (Writ)
Short Walt is heavy - and has a big nose! - Walton on the Naze
Angry hair grip - Kirby Cross
