    High groundwater levels are causing flooding. Groundwater levels in Salisbury Plain are high but slowly falling. Areas that could be affected include: Winterbourne Gunner, Winterbourne Dauntsey, Winterbourne Earls and Laverstock. The Groundwater level at Clarendon was 70.04 metres. Property flooding is possible when it is above 70.00 metres. High groundwater levels will influence the level of the River Bourne as well, increasing the risk of fluvial flooding. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. We are closely monitoring the situation. If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on.     High groundwater levels are causing flooding. Groundwater levels in the Salisbury Plain area are beginning to fall but remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Tilshead, Orcheston, Shrewton, Berwick St James and Stapleford. The Groundwater level at Tilshead was 96.92 metres and property flooding is possible when it goes above 96.50 metres. The forecast is for showers later this week which may cause some response in groundwater fed rivers. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. We are closely monitoring the situation. If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. We expect to see high water levels in Brundall and Reedham riverside areas. River levels will remain high over the next couple of days due to tide locking, which is where tides restrict normal drainage of the river out to the sea. Widespread cellar flooding and sewerage system issues are expected to be ongoing in the village. Only small amounts of rain are forecast from Monday 30/03/2026 to Friday 03/04/2026. Groundwater levels will continue to fall slowly during the next week. If the weather forecast continues to be favourable next week, this Flood Alert may be removed.     A Groundwater Flood Alert remains in place for the West of Dorset. Levels are slowly starting to drop but remain high and are over the Flood Alert thresholds. The Groundwater level at Kingston Russell was 115.47 metres earlier this morning, 30th March 2026, and property flooding is possible when it goes above 116.00 metres. Flooding of fields and roads is still possible. Groundwater levels remain responsive to further rainfall. Where groundwater is near the surface, intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding.     Groundwater is high, very close to the surface, but now falling. Springs will continue to appear, water will be in fields, and groundwater will affect the ability of the sewage network to operate in East Dean, Charlton, Singleton and West Dean. Small amounts of water may still flow down roads, and intermittently appear in a few basements. Only light rain is forecast on Friday afternoon 27/03/2026, with predominantly fine weather over the next 5 days to Tuesday 31/03/2026, although a brief and isolated shower could be possible at times. Groundwater at both Chilgrove and East Dean boreholes is expected to continue to fall. It is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout the remainder of spring and summer, although the sewage network may continue to be affected by groundwater until mid April. Take care on roads that flood (Chilgrove, West Dean, Singleton, East Dean). Ensure pumps work. We will update this message by 18:00 on 31/03/2026.

    High groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible to low lying land, roads and properties with basements around the following areas: Petham Bourne, Alkham bourne and Nailbourne including Alkham, Temple Ewell, Elham, Barham, Bishopsbourne, Bridge, Patrixbourne and Bekesbourne. Groundwater levels in East Kent rose significantly following significant rainfall during January and early February. The Nailbourne continues to flow along its full course. During March, weather conditions have become noticeably drier and groundwater levels are now generally falling. We are monitoring the situation and continue to liaise closely with our partners who have also been responding. Please avoid walking or driving through flood water and keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Check for Flooding' site on gov.uk. Sewerage system impacts are expected be occurring in Appleshaw and Penton Mewsey. In Penton Grafton, the main road is flooded. Only very small amounts of rain are forecast from Wednesday 25/03/2026 to Sunday 29/03/2026. Groundwater levels are expected to continue slowly falling this week. Flooding impacts will continue into April. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents are advised to ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed.
