 Stephen Kenny's Derry are top of the Eircom League |
Derry City manager Stephen Kenny says it is "a great feeling" to be top of the Eircom League Premier Division after Tuesday's 1-0 win over Longford. "I could say it's early days and we must keep things in perspective but I won't. I want the supporters to enjoy it and enjoy the forthcoming games.
"A lot of the players were part of the relegation battles of recent seasons and the club's existence was in danger.
"Now that we are top of the league it is brilliant for everyone at the club."
Stephen O'Flynn scored the winner for the Candystripes in the 87th minute of the match at the Brandywell.
