There's a lengthy rally with neither prepared to back off for the second and Rafael Jodar gets it!

Rafael Jodar manoeuvres himself into a position at the net over the course of three returns and then slams a winner for 0-15.
Jodar gets to 0-30 but loses a little momentum when he's stretched at the baseline and returns into the net.
Alexander Zverev is very casual with a forehand to the corner and it strays well wide to hand over two break points.

It is probably best for Jodar to play the drop shot.

Alexander Zverev is still taking a little time to find his rhythm on serve.
Trailing, 15-30 Zverev decides to turn up the aggression and strides up to the net where he hits a winner to level.
Zverev decides to stick with that approach and it works once more as he pulls 40-30 clear before wrapping up the hold.

This is looking a lot more routine for Rafael Jodar.
The Spaniard steps up to the net and hits a volley winner for 40-0 before going on to hold to love.
That'll help to settle any potential nerves.

Rafael Jodar is getting the runaround at times. The teenager is sent end-to-end across the baseline before Alexander Zverev whips a forehand winner for advantage.
And the German goes on to get the hold.

Rafael Jodar is playing some eye-catching tennis at times in this opening game. The 19-year-old gets everything behind a forehand and smashes a winner into the corner for advantage.
