    Bolton 1-1 Stockport

We have had 10 minutes of this second half and the pace is nowhere near what we had in the first period.

This is a bit more like we had for yesterday's Championship final.

Thierry Gale wriggles his way to the byline and Ruben Rodrigues screws a shot wide of the target.

Stockport push forward for the first time in this half.

Max Conway scrambles a cross behind for a corner.

The set piece is terrible and goes behind.

County boss Dave Challinor mops some sweat from his brow with a white cloth - it's hot for everyone out there.

We have only just started this second-half and Sidibeh has been left so many times already. We can't keep doing that. We look vulnerable.

Stockport have an issue clearing a Bolton free-kick.

There are shouts for handball but mainly from the Bolton fans.

VAR? A quick check and on we go, no penalty.

Steven Schumacher will be delighted with the start his side have made to this second half.

The conditions will definitely start to have an effect.

They have to make sure their mentality is right. I want to see Bolton control the game more especially when they are in possession.

    A positive start from Bolton.

Josh Sheehan has a shot blocked before getting another sight of goal and Corey Addai gets down to parry it away - he handled that better than the one in the first half which led to the Bolton goal.

Well, what a first 45 that was.

Stockport's attitude seemed to be 'go hard or go home' while Bolton were chasing a fair bit but also looking dangerous themselves.

Surely they cannot keep up the pace of that opening half?

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:09 BST

    Bolton 1-1 Stockport

I wonder if any of the players had a cheeky couple of minutes under a cold shower during the break?

We are back at it under a blistering sun at the national stadium.

    No changes for either side.

Well, that was a crackerjack of a first half. I am now passing over to my trusted colleague Glenn Speller to see you through to full-time.

Whether it's the right thing (for VAR) to be in the EFL at this stage I'm not sure, but with my defender's head on, I think it's a foul.

If it goes the other way and the defender clips the attacker you would want a foul.

I think Conway needs to start attacking more down the left-hand side. He is being too narrow and too defensive.

We need to put more pressure onto Stockport because we aren't doing that at all right now.

As you can imagine we have had a lot of feedback on the decision to disallow that first Stockport goal in the opening half and whether it's right even having VAR in the play-offs...

How crazy! EFL has no VAR all season only in the finals.

    Ron, London

How can you have a full season without VAR but then bring it in for the final? It cost Sheffield United promotion last season too.

    John H, London

Sheffield United had a 35th-minute goal disallowed by VAR in the Championship final against Sunderland last season. It would have put the Blades 2-0 up but they went on to lose 2-1.

Despite what that referee at Old Trafford said the other week about a clear handball, an action doesn't need to be intentional for it to be a foul. No, he didn't mean to trip him, but he did. Correct decision.

    Tom, Rotherham

The game has gone. How can you have VAR in the League One play-off but not in any other League One game for the whole season?

A sluggish game under the summer sun expected. A blistering match with two teams fired up delivered.

There's plenty to talk about in that first half. Was the VAR call right? Can it go on like this? Who is looking primed to win?

Honestly, all three of those talking points can be contested over a nice, cold glass of your chosen beverage.

Drink it up because this match could have more surprises up it's sleeve.

The mindset of going in thinking every moment matters is working out for them. They have instilled their style of football. Stockport have defended so well since the poor moment from the goal keeper.

    Bolton have really struggled.

A blistering first half in every sense of the word comes to an end.

Bolton took the lead through Ruben Rodrigues inside three minutes after capitalising on poor goalkeeping by Corey Addai.

Adama Sidibeh thought he'd equalised eight minutes later but his effort was ruled out following a VAR check for a foul on Wanderers defender George Johnston.

But Sidibeh did grab the leveller after 29 minutes, flicking a clever backwards header into the far corner.

Perfectly poised in the scorching Wembley sun.

Ruben Rodrigues eventually gets back to his feet for Bolton and now we can play out the last few seconds of this first half.

Bolton's Ruben Rodrigues has gone down holding his neck in the Stockport penalty area after colliding with Kyle Wootton.

Wootton did hold his arm out to block the run of Rodrigues. Checked and cleared by VAR though.

    And now another drinks break.

Bolton were enjoying a nice little spell before the board was lifted into the air with a nice round eight displayed. Probably the best since their goal three minutes in.

Taking the lead before half-time would be plenty timely.

This first half has been so energetic. Surely under these conditions, the second can't carry on this way, can it?
