A Lee Bonis double helped Chesterfield beat Crewe as the Spireites moved back up into the League Two play-off places.
It was a closely-fought encounter, but ultimately Chesterfield's attacking prowess paid dividends as Bonis scored either side of the break.
Both sides had opportunities to break the deadlock in the first period, with Liam Mandeville forcing a full-stretch save from Crewe goalkeeper Ian Lawlor before Emre Tezgel had a goal chalked off for the visitors for offside.
Bonis netted a first-half opener after the ball pinballed in the area before the Northern Irish forward bundled the ball over the line.
After the break, it was more end-to-end action, and Tezgel came within inches as his header crashed off the bar, before Bonis made it two.
Mandeville slid through an inch-perfect ball and the forward coolly lifted his shot over the onrushing Lawlor.
The result means that Chesterfield leapfrog Swindon into seventh place, with the two sides facing each other in the final league game of the season next Saturday.
