    Well what an entertaining first half that was.

    Liverpool were fully deserving of their lead after pressuring City into all kinds of mistakes, but sometimes luck just doesn't go your way.

    Khadija Shaw was in the right place at the right time to score her fourth goal of the season, but Khiara Keating will be so disappointed.

    More end to end action in the second half?

    Four goals in that first half.

    It was a half where mishaps made the difference - twice for the hosts, and once for the visitors.

    What a time to score before half-time but worst time to concede for Liverpool.

    Keating will be disappointed with that, she thought she made the save but it went through her. But you've got to follow up everything and Shaw did what all good strikers do, followed up and got the goal.

    That feels like the sort of goal Liverpool should be scoring in this game.

    Some good movement of the ball from Manchester City sees the ball worked out to Lauren Hemp, who fires a shot towards Khiara Keating.

    Keating slips up though and can't keep hold of the ball.

    Ready and waiting to turn it in on the line is, of course, Khadija Shaw. Inevitable.

    City have the quality to go wide or into central positions.

    Blindkilde Brown - her vision is brilliant and I would love for her turn and go forward a little bit more because I think sometimes she goes backwards or sidewards, when with her quality she can turn on the half-turn and start the attack a lot more.

    Carolotta Wamser makes a nice run and searches for a cut-back, but can't find Khadija Shaw in the middle.

    That was a really tight angle in the end, Keating came out, didn't make any contact which I was worried about.

    It was a great ball into Shaw and she's always waiting on the shoulder of the defenders. It was a really tight angle but is it bad that we expect her to score?

    Yes, a striker of Khadija Shaw's quality should score there, but Khiara Keating did brilliantly to force the City striker wide so that the angle was against her.

    Great work from the former City goalkeeper.

    Khadija Shaw is slipped through out wide and rounds the goalkeeper. She was left with a very tricky angle and her effort bounced off the near post.

    Another Liverpool cross comes in and they can't immediately clear it, although the manage to scramble it away eventually.

    Then, not long after, Carlotta Wamser dawdles with the ball at her feet and is dispossessed.

    That's shambolic defending from City.

    Andree Jeglertz spoke in pre-season about wanting to tighten up his side's defensive play, so he will be less than pleased with both of the goals conceded tonight.

    The WSL champions look vulnerable every time the ball gets close to their own box.

    I've got to say in the last five minutes, that is absolutely deserved. It wasn't the prettiest, a ball in the box that wasn't dealt with, but Liverpool were the first to it.

    If they commit players forward and put City under pressure they can force errors and they absolutely deserve that.

    Another bit of qood movement from Liverpool in the final third. Cornelia Kapocs is the first to a cross and causes a nuisance.

    The ball drops to the feet of Vivien Endemann, who rifles it from close range. Ayaka Yamashita gets a hand to it but the ball sneaks in at the far post.
