Liverpool manager, Gareth Talylor is looking forward to the upcoming derby against Everton at Goodison Park this Saturday.

"The games this season have been entertaining. We've played them once in the WSL and once in the FA Cup. We had a good outcome in the FA Cup so of course, we are looking to try to do that again.

"We understand the challenge that's in front of us. We're in similar form to them and it's interesting what a few wins can do to push you up the league. It should be an entertaining game," Talylor said.

When asked about Liverpool's record against Everton, Taylor explained:

"People will always talk about previous form from years ago so until we put that right in the league, then it will still be that we have lost more. It happens.

"Everyone involved in those games wants the outcome to be that we're smiling. We failed to do that in the last [WSL] game. We know it will be tough but we have an opportunity."

In the WSL on Sunday, Leicester City suffered a damaging defeat as Aston Villa came from behind to win 2-1 at King Power Stadium.

Alisha Lehmann's first goal for the club had given the Foxes a deserved lead at half-time but second-half strikes from Anna Patten and Kirsty Hanson left the hosts three points adrift at the bottom of the table with four games to go.

Two places above Leicester, Liverpool eked out a priceless point at Brighton in a nervy affair at Broadfield Stadium.

Chances were precious few between the sides placed 10th and ninth respectively although as the clock ticked past 90 minutes Albion defender Manuela Vanegas had a header tipped on to the crossbar while at the other end, Liverpool forward Martha Thomas was sensationally denied on the goalline by Maelys Mpome.
