2.12 metres - This New Zealand pace attack has the highest average release point of any Kiwi pace unit to tour England since 2010.

Emilio Gay is off the mark with a single, surviving an lbw appeal in the process, before Ben Duckett again capitalises on a bit of width for four more.

It's in the air just over the fielder at point, which draws claps of encouragement for Nathan Smith from the New Zealand slip cordon.

Kyle Jamieson is applying the pressure here and Ben Duckett will be feeling it, he likes to get bat on ball. It's a test for him mentally.

Kyle Jamieson continues to test Ben Duckett by plugging away at off stump, but Duckett expertly cashes in as soon as the bowler strays.

A bit of width and it's slashed to the boundary.

  5. Eng 0-0published at 2 overs

It's Nathan Smith who is chosen to share the new ball as opposed to Matt Henry.

Another tricky over, though, as Emilio Gay edges his first two balls on the bounce to slip before playing and missing at the last. He gives a shrug which reads, "What else am I supposed to do?"

In case you're wondering, England led by 40 after the first innings of the first Ashes Test in Perth.

It's tricky because we've been talking about Bazball and how it's been tweaked, but if anything it's set up for that today.

Every batter has their own method of setting up and scoring runs. You've got to suss it out for yourself when you're out there, you're a professional.

  8. Eng 0-0published at 1 over

Yeah, it was Harry Brook for England and Glenn Phillips and Kyle Jamieson for New Zealand - the only batters to make significant contributions were those who came out attacking. It's somewhat ironic considering all the talk about England changing their approach...

Easier said than done, though, as Duckett plays and misses throughout a Jamieson maiden. There's still plenty happening.

This is a day for Bazball, if there ever was one.

Ben Duckett defends the first ball from Kyle Jamieson, who took 5-62 in the first innings.

5-39 is Ollie Robinson's best bowling performance in a Test innings, beating his previous mark of 5-49 against South Africa at The Oval in 2022.

So, 140 plays 113 after an hour on day two.

The good news for New Zealand is that Matt Henry has been doing some bowling drills on the outfield and gives the physio a thumbs-up, so it looks like he'll have the new ball in his hand shortly.

Emilio Gay made eight in his first Test innings but surely we'll be expecting a different approach from him and Ben Duckett here?

Test-best figures of 5-39 for Ollie Robinson and he's onto the honours board at Lord's for the first time.

As comebacks go, it's not a bad one.

New Zealand added 84 for their last four wickets, which is a lot in the context of a low-scoring match.

Brilliant from Ollie Robinson, a fantastic comeback. He's had the conditions, had the pitch but you've still got to deliver and he's done exactly what England have brought him back into the side to do.

Ollie Robinson's taken a bit of tap this morning from Jamieson but he's finished it off with the lovely sight of middle stump lying on the ground.

    Well, survive that!

Ollie Robinson ditches the short ball plan and knocks Matt Henry's middle stump out the ground for his fifth wicket.

He leads England off the field, raising the ball to the Lord's crowd as he goes, with figures of 5-39 as New Zealand are skittled for 113.

    What a return.

Ben Stokes is having fun, setting those funky fields of his that we saw frequently during the early Bazball days.

He has three fielders straight down the ground - long-on, long-off and Harry Brook is stationed in between them, almost directly behind the bowler.

Jamieson takes the single and Matt Henry has two balls to survive.

Matt Henry looks to me like he's going down the Will O'Rourke route, giving Jamieson the strike.
