Matthew Hudson-Smith, who has a stand at Alexander Stadium named after him, became the joint-most decorated European male athlete of all-time by claiming a dominant 400m gold on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old secured his eighth medal at the championships to equal French sprinter Christophe Lemaitre's record medal tally for men.
He has five European gold medals and is level with Roger Black, Sir Mo Farah and Zharnel Hughes as the joint most won by a British man.
Hudson-Smith could add to his total in the men's 4x400m relay final on Sunday.
Norway's Ingebrigtsen is the most successful European male athlete of all time with seven golds.

The 400m champion from Wolverhampton concedes this will likely be his last European Championships, and a ninth medal would make him its most-decorated man.
Great Britain have won an unrivalled 10 European titles in this event, latterly in 2022, but were beaten in the heats by European indoor gold medallists Netherlands.
Belgium are the reigning champions, while Italy set a national record in the heats.

The fact Mondo Duplantis is here and he has that desire and hunger. It is amazing to see and it is something all the athletes should draw on.
Men's pole vault final
Mondo Duplantis has already had plenty to celebrate this summer. The three-time European champion got married to his long-time partner Desire Inglander in June.
Inglander is watching from the stands in Birmingham and she's sat beside Kurtis Marschall - the Australian athlete that handed Duplantis his first defeat in three years at June's Diamond League event in Stockholm.

Why not attack Femke Bol? She has spent time on her endurance work and not her sprinting. That is what Emily Newnham did.
