Will Oliver (James Anderson) have to repeat his F1 year?

Jac has tried everything to get ahead, including lying, cheating and manipulating, but Elliot suggests she's better off just being a team player, as the medical drama continues. Jac takes his advice and helps Greg with one of his patients. But when the patient turns out to be a candidate for cutting-edge surgery, Jac reverts to her old tactics to lead the operation.

Donna has finally managed to see Kieran but his leg is in bad shape and, worse yet, he's not giving her the time of day. Just when he's finally warming up to her, his condition worsens, leaving Donna wondering if she's strong enough to handle the casualties of war.

Oliver is one screw-up away from having to repeat his F1 year. So, when the discovery that he's previously made another mistake comes back around to haunt him, he sinks lower than ever before, convincing Penny to take the blame. But with a formal inquiry looming, will he be caught in his own lie?

Jac Naylor is played by Rosie Marcel, Elliot Hope by Paul Bradley, Greg Douglas by Edward MacLiam, Donna Jackson by Jaye Jacobs, Kieran Callaghan by Barry Sloane, Oliver Valentine by James Anderson and Penny Valentine by Emma Catherwood.

Martha's (Maxine Peake) prejudices are challenged
Martha's (Maxine Peake) prejudices are challenged

Famous for her opposition to the way the Justice system treats rape victims, Martha is handed a case to represent a man accused of raping his ex-girlfriend, as Peter Moffat's slick, fast-paced legal drama continues.

Billy is adamant she needs to do it to prove to the Silk panel that she can do her job no matter how morally repugnant she finds the case. With Clive prosecuting for the ex-girlfriend, Martha feels that she will have her work cut out to prove her client innocent.

However, as the case continues, Martha's prejudices are challenged by her pupil and the case itself as she realises that only the victim and the defendant know what actually transpired. Martha realises that only the jury can make the decision as to whether her client is guilty or innocent.

Meanwhile, Niamh gets her first day in court – a bail application for Martha's old client, Gary Rush. Due to a court mix-up, Gary has someone else's charge sheet and it gives the impression that this is Gary's first offence. Niamh is unsure of what to do and phones Nick for advice from Martha. Niamh keeps quiet about Gary's criminal past and he is given bail.

Both Martha and Niamh have personal troubles as Niamh makes the mistake of sleeping with Clive, her pupil master, while Martha discovers she's pregnant and decides to book an abortion.

Martha Costello is played by Maxine Peake, Billy Lamb by Neil Stuke, Clive Reader by Rupert Penry-Jones, Niamh Cranitch by Natalie Dormer, Gary Rush by Paul Hilton and Nick Slade by Tom Hughes.

Silk is simulcast in HD on BBC One HD on Freesat channel 108, Freeview channel 50, Sky channel 143 and Virgin Media channel 108.

A Farmer's Life For Me Ep 5/8

Tuesday 1 March
8.00-9.00pm BBC TWO

The tension mounts as the remaining five lucky couples compete to impress Jimmy Doherty for the opportunity of a lifetime running their own Suffolk farm.

This week, the fledgling farmers are tested on their ability to make money from poultry. After a brief introduction to the industry that includes mastering the techniques of turkey insemination, the five remaining couples must decide what type of birds they want to rear. But it's not an easy choice with options ranging from emus to ducks.

Building fox-proof housing also proves too much for some as the weather takes a turn for the worse. But the toughest challenge of all comes when they must turn their poultry into profitable products.

Jimmy inspects their efforts before deciding which couple will be next to go home.

Junior Doctors – Your Life In Their Hands Ep 2/6

Tuesday 22 February
9.00-10.00pm BBC THREE
Suzi endures a typical night in A&E
Suzi endures a typical night in A&E

BBC Three continues to follow the lives of seven newly qualified junior doctors as they leave behind five years of medical study and take up their jobs as junior doctors at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, and the Newcastle General Hospital.

It's a typical night in A&E as binge-drinking, bad behaviour and brawling are becoming the norm for Suzi. Five 12-hour shifts on the trot are taking their toll and she turns to her parents for some moral support.

Somewhere in the hospital there is a patient with heart failure and it's a race against time for Jon, who is on call as part of the crash team. Prioritising patients is key, as up to 80 emergency assessment cases are admitted during each shift. As another long day on shift comes to an end, Jon finds a patient collapsed in the corridor.

Across in gastroenterology, Lucy has patients with life-threatening chronic illnesses and others with conditions associated with alcohol and drug abuse – some of whom are her own age. She comes face to face with the harsh reality that, for some patients, there just is no cure.

Elsewhere, in respiratory, Adam begins to realise that medicine has its limitations. Katherine, who is on call across several wards, begins to feel the pressure of the job.

On a well-deserved night off, all of the junior doctors are facing up to the limits of what they can do as doctors when they reveal which superhero power they would like to possess in order to help make people better.
